Behind the Blue Curtain Breakdown
28 September 2019
The trial of Amber Guyger started with a bang before the jury was even seated when the defense offered a request for a mistrial. Defense attorneys provided a video, with transcript, from an interview on FOX 4 News with the Dallas County District Attorney 7, which took place the day before the trial began.
Judge Tammy Kemp had placed a gag order on the trial. Her reaction was documented by The Dallas Morning News and subsequently went viral on Twitter.
Trooper David Armstrong stated that he does not believe the former Dallas officer committed a crime when she shot and killed Botham Jean inside his apartment after thinking it was her unit and that he was an intruder.
How does this happen? Was the witness testimony good or bad? Should the prosecution have kept Amber Guyger on the stand longer? We cover these questions and more on Behind the Blue Curtain (28 September 2019)
Claudia Lynch joined us to give a legal interpretation and her views.
